Movie Sessions

Enjoy a free movie in the relaxing library environment. 

Movies are screened quarterly and during events. Bookings are essential. 

Please notify the library to cancel tickets if you cannot attend.

Some films are restricted in accordance with Australian Film Classifications. Proof of age will be required.

Desk Set (G) - Thursday 15 February, 10am

Bunny Watson heads up the research department at a TV network. Richard Sumner arrives to introduce computers into the department. When electricity sparks between Bunny and Richard, Bunny's boyfriend Mike is not happy. As the tension mounts in the office, so do the laughs.

Easter Parade (PG) - Wednesday 13 March, 6pm

Synopsis:
On the day before Easter in 1911, Don Hewes is crushed when his dancing partner (and object of affection) Nadine Hale refuses to start a new contract with him. To prove Nadine's not important to him, Don acquires innocent new protege, Hannah Brown, vowing to make her a star in time for next year's Easter parade. Starring Judy Garland and Fred Astaire.

Synopsis:
An amnesiac World War I veteran falls in love with a music hall star, only to suffer an accident which restores his original memories but erases his post-war life. Starring Greer Garson. Rated PG.

Synopsis:
Lifelong friends reunite for a party at Sydney's Palm Beach. Starring Bryan Brown. 

 

The Dish (M) - Friday 6 September, 10am

A group of maverick scientists on a remote Australian sheep farm are the globe's only hope for obtaining the epic images of man's first steps on the moon.

My name is Alfred Hitchcock (M) - Wednesday 13 November, 6pm

A fictional Alfred Hitchcock narrates an explanation of some of the lesser-known cinematic techniques he used in his movies, richly illustrated with clips from his entire 50-year career.
